Busy, busy summer

Well, we've been B.u.s.y.  That's right, a capital B.  It feels great!!!  We are having so much fun...even in this disgusting weather.

In between all of the shoots, last weekend we got to take part in the 4th Annual St. Louis Metro Charity Classic Golf Tournament- with proceeds going to Rebuilding Together- a really cool organization, with a really cool mission...  check 'em out here:  http://www.rebuildingtogether-stl.org/

Before you get all worked up- Randi and I did NOT golf.  That probably wouldn't have been near as fun as it was to drive around heckling the golfers all day.  ;)  Seriously, though.

We had a great time taking pics of the guys and gals as they followed that little white ball all around.  They looked like they were having a great time, too!

Here we are with our "sponsor" sign:

Hopefully we get invited back next year!!

He takes the cake!

Our journey with this little man started a year ago...coincidentally enough, about the same time our new little business journey began.  I still remember being SO excited (and a little nervous- let's be real) about capturing his very first pictures.  We wanted to make sure we had everything just right for our first newborn.  Warm blankets, dim lighting, a tiny space heater, cute props.  We had it all under control.  And then, he peed ALL over it.

It was his way of saying, "Welcome to the wonderful world of newborn shoots."  Thanks, bud.  Good thing you're so darn cute...

Since then, we've done 7 (I think) newborn shoots- starting with nice clean blankets, and always finishing with dirty ones.  Oh well.  We LOVE it!  Every single, wet, second of it.

This year with you guys has been a real joy.  What a pleasure to watch him grow, change and develop such a funny little personality.  I'm sure it has nothing to do with your song-writing abilities.  Seriously, though, you were blessed with a sweet little happy boy.  (Thank goodness he rarely had the crabby pants.)  heehee

We're thankful that we're friends with you guys because we would sorely miss seeing you so often!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

The Gorgeous {E} Family

I mean, seriously.  Stop. it.  Aren't they THE CUTEST?!?!

It was a big day for this family- Cami turned 2, Ethan turned 4, and we even snuck in some family shots.  Whew!  And to top it all off- it was windy!!

Here's a few more from the day-

Beautiful!  Thanks, guys!!

Happy 2nd birthday, Lucas!

The last week or so we have been the lucky recipients of rain, rain, and more rain.  As I type this I have no idea how much has come down, and we may not have set any record rainfall amounts, but I can promise you- it's definitely more than normal.  And we're tired of it.  We kindof rely on the weather to be decent when we're planning our shoots...

On Thursday, we managed to squeeze in a birthday shoot for an adorable 2 year old between a couple of quick little showers.  (AND, enjoy a double rainbow.)  What a sweet family!  Thank you, Apryl and Chris for letting us capture some memories of your sweet boy.  It was so cute and fun to watch him splash in those puddles!

Happy birthday, Lucas!!

Blake & Rachael: Engagement Session

Yep, that's right.  That's my baby brother.  For those of you that know me and my family, I'm sure you're wondering how this could be possible.  Blake's all growed up?!??-- and getting married?!?!  I know.

After a blizzard-spoiled attempt to get their pics taken this winter, Randi and I headed up to Champaign this weekend--finally-- to get this session in.  Although it was a little weird to tell my brother to kiss his fiance for some of the pics (I covered my eyes a little...), I managed to push through in order to get some good shots.  ;)

And, because I'm biased, you get to see LOTS of these shots.  You're welcome.

Trains are kindof a "thing" in our family, so it was pretty cool when a train came through while we were shooting at the old train depot.

Aren't they cute?  They are a really sweet, special couple and I can't wait for their big day this summer.  I'm honored to be a part of it, and I pray for God's blessings on your upcoming marriage.    Love you guys!

Izzy the Easter Pug

We had a little extra time this last weekend, and I happened to have my baby in town with me, so.... after a minor mis-hap on the family room floor... we had a little fun.

Emphasis on WE.  Here's how Izzy felt about it...

Happy Easter!!!

Balloons and Bubbles!!

So, we've been anticipating this 1 yr. shoot for quite some time now.  On the one hand, we were so excited to play and celebrate with him.  On the other hand, we were dreading having to 'say goodbye' to him and his Momma.  Granted, we know we're not actually saying 'goodbye'--(sometimes I'm dramatic, I know)--but we will really miss seeing him every other month and watching him grow & change.

Here is baby {J} the first time we met him... (4 months old)

That day, we laid him down on his back and, clear as day, he said "Hey, Ladies!" in his deep little voice.  We all just about fell over!!  (I'm sure it was just baby mumbo-jumbo, but it absolutely sounded like he was hitting on us...)  Ha!!  Definitely a moment we will always treasure.

Here he is, totally having a ball on his big day!  Not sure who had more fun, us or the birthday boy?!

We'll look forward to your 2nd birthday, little man!

Up to our eyeballs...

What we did ALL weekend:

We had fabulous weather (if you don't count the wind on Sunday...) and were able to get all of our Easter shoots done outside.  Yay!  Although you can't tell this from the picture above.  Ha!
We had so much fun with all of the families that participated.  (One of my favorite parts of the job-- visiting!)Everyone looked so cute all decked out for Easter!

Next up... I'll hopefully post a little sneak peak from each session.
